Printer rack from Dexion and OSB

A four-level steel rack for the Core One+ and MMU3, with a concrete tile under the printer to soak up vibration.

The Core One+ moves fast, and a light table shakes with it. This rack gives it a heavy, stiff base and puts the five MMU3 spools on a deck above the printer.

Design

  • Frame: Dexion slotted angle, braced with OSB panels. Four levels: a base, a middle shelf, the printer deck and a top deck for the filament spools.
  • Mass damping: a 400 x 400 mm concrete paving tile bolted under the 15 mm OSB printer deck. The extra mass absorbs the racking forces from fast moves.
  • Levelling: four M8 threaded rods with printed PETG foot caps, for fine levelling on an uneven floor.

Dexion cut list

Lengths follow the hole pitch, so each piece joins on the round holes. See the Dexion length table.
